Samuel Robert Pflugh

Samuel Robert Pflugh, 88, of Mingo Jct., OH, passed away on January 7, 2022 at the Laurels of Steubenville.  He was born on February 14, 1933 in Little Rush Run, OH, to the late Neal William and Pearl Elizabeth (Fithen) Pflugh. He is also preceded in death by one daughter Rebecca Lynn Bowman, four sisters Grace, Sarah, Ella, Drucilla, three brothers Joe, Neal, and Rich.  Sam  graduated from Brilliant High School in 1952 and was induced into the Blue Devils Hall of Fame in 2021.  Sam was a  MP in  the Army during the Korean War. He belonged to the Follansbee Legion Post 45, Steubenville Masonic Lodge, NRA, and was  one of the founding members of the Rush Run Ball Club. Sam is survived by his wife Mary Frances (Sole) Pflugh of 53 years, Married on August 15, 1968., Three children Beth Anne Powell of Warren, Neal "Bill" (Paula) Pflugh of Wooster, and Dawnelle (Duke) Ribar of Steubenville, nine grandchildren Josh (Keri) Bears, Sara (Cory Snow) Powell, Tina (Matt Valentine) Saal, Nicole (Randy Springs) Byler, Samantha (Duke Mollohan) Pflugh, Robert Bowman, Matthew (Brandi) Pflugh, Christopher Bowman, and Melissa (Jeremy) Host, 22 great grandchildren. There will be a celebration of life at the Rush Run Ball Club The "Shack" at a later date.  Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
