Alfred Michael Saner, 73 of Powhatan Point, went home to be with the Lord and his parents on December 30, 2021 surrounded and loved by family. Mike was born July 1, 1948, the second child of Harry (Hunk) and Stella Baker Saner. He was a graduate of Powhatan High School and worked for the North American Coal Company from graduation until 1983. Mike had a love for nature and any animal in it. He was a kind and gentle soul who loved everyone. He would greet you with a smile on his face and coffee was always ready if you wanted it. Mike was welcomed home by his parents, Hunk and Stella Saner, a niece, Davie JoAnn Nelson and brothers in law Ken Darby and Ronnie Harrigan. Mike is survived by his son, Roman Michael of Powhatan, the love of his life, Jackie Thomas Saner, sisters Rose Saner Darby of Beallsville Oh and Sandy Saner Nelson and her husband David of Morehead Ky. Sisters- in -law Wendy Nelson and Tyrena Harrigan and brother in law Kalon (Theresa) Thomas, all of Powhatan Point. Mike was loved by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew. According to his wishes, there will be no visitation. Mike wanted to be cremated and placed to rest with his parents. Graveside services and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
