Amelia Marie (Freund) Hagerty

Hagerty, Amelia M. Freund, 99, of Mingo Junction, Ohio passed away peacefully on January 6, 2014 at her home. Amelia was born March 13, 1914 in Patersdorf, Germany, A daughter of the late Karl Freund and Marie (Litner) Freund. She was a housekeeper for St. Agnes Catholic Church in Mingo Junction for "many" years, wife, mother, grandmother, and a woman of great faith. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church Mingo Junction.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Hagerty, two brothers Carl William Freund, and Louis William Freund, and one sister Marie Amelia Armstrong; Three sons, Thomas Allen Hagerty, Andrew Joseph Hagerty, and Robert Francis Hagerty, and one daughter Janelle “Mitzi” Brooks. Survived by one sister Anna Gertrude Maul, three children Judith Fradl and Mary Jane Popp of Dayton, OH and Bernard George Hagerty of Pittsburgh, PA,  15 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Monday January 13, from 9 am till time of Funeral with Mass at 11 am, with Fr. James M. Dunfee as celebrant, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Mingo Junction.  Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Steubenville, Schuetz Funeral Home 235 Clifton Ave. Mingo Junction assisting the family. Mass Stipends requested in lieu of flowers.
