Barbara Ellen (Edwards) Birmelin

Barbara Ellen Birmelin 88, of Bellaire, OH, passed away on November 9, 2023 after a long illness.  Barbara was born in Marion, OH on September 2, 1935 to the late Michael and Mildred (Needles) Maple. On August 13, 1954 Barbara married the late Paul Birmelin and subsequently had three children: Tracy Lee, Lois and Michael Russel.  Barbara had many hobbies which included Researching genealogy, Seamstress, collecting Antiques, spending time with friends and family. Barbara and her husband Paul were members of the East of the River Shawnee tribe for many years, where she served as Nations Mother.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Paul Birmelin, her parents Michael and Mildred Maple.  She is survived by her children Tracy Pearson (Wendy Overly) of Martins Ferry, Losi Hess of Mansfield, OH, and Michael Birmelin (Yvonnie) of Temecula, CA, her grandsons Keith (Tiffany) Akam of Vermillion, OH, and Andrew Birmelin of Temecula, CA, four great grandchildren Haley, Dean, Kinley, and Jordan of Vermillion, OH.

Per her wishes there will be no services.  Burial will be at Mansfield Memorial Park. 2507 Park Ave. West. Ontario, OH 44906.  Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
