In Loving Memory of Christopher La Shawn Hicks Jr. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher La Shawn Hicks, who left us on September 11, 2024, in Phoenix, AZ. Born on May 21, 1986, in Alliance, OH, Chris was a beloved son to Carla Kidd and was lovingly nurtured by his devoted grandmother, Beatrice Kidd. Chris was a vibrant member of the Souls Harbor community in Glendale, AZ, where he found friendship and support. He was preceded in death by his Uncle James Allen Wayt and his dear cousin Hunter Kidd, who will be waiting for him in eternal peace. Living life to the fullest, Chris was a man of many passions. He enjoyed working out, playing basketball, and wrestling, often found spending time at the beach soaking up the sun. His adventurous spirit extended to his love for motorcycles, where he felt the thrill of the open road. A computer-savvy individual, Chris embraced technology and shared his knowledge with those around him. Above all, Chris cherished his family and friends. He was a devoted brother to Anttoninette Kidd and Skylar Jeter, a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews—Mersady, Hailee, Layla, Donald, Isaiah, and Christian—and a caring fiancé to Hannah Cochran. He also leaves behind his stepfathers Carl and Jamie, his bonus grandmother Mary Jeter, his uncle David Kidd, and special cousins Taylor and Kain, along with a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly. Chris had a unique ability to bring people together, and his laughter and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. As we celebrate the life of Christopher La Shawn Hicks, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and honor his legacy by cherishing the moments we shared together. Rest in peace, Chris. You will forever be loved and missed. Psalm 34:1-6
I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.
4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
