David William Kendall, 66 of Mingo Junction, Ohio entered eternal rest Sunday December 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at Valley Hospice Care Center North. David was born on October 24 1958 and is a graduate of Brooke High School. After high school, David proudly served in the United States Army. During his life he worked for Ziegler Tire in Mingo, Jefferson Security in Steubenville, and numerous apartment complexes in Steubenville and Toronto as a maintenance man. He was a member of the American Legion Post #121 in Chester WV.
Dave is preceded in death by his parent’s William and Carrie Kendall, Step-mother Helen (Santee) Kendall, Sister Carolyn Kendall (Murphy), Step-son Mike Devore, brothers in law Larry Ferrell, Bob Stromeyer, and Mike Murphy, sisters in law Diana Pettibon (McClelland) and Mary Pettibone (Hutchinson) and nephew Denis Murphy.
Dave is survived by his wife Carla (Pettibon) Kendall, daughters Nicole Kendall (Mike Stoakes), Shannon (Josh) Sayre, step-children Emily and Gary Devore, and grandchildren Kyndall and Hope Stoakes, Lydia, Lillian and Layla Sayre, Blake Dulkoski, Caitlynne, Austin, Ethan, Cody and Michaela Devore, and Jacob DiBendetto. Great grandchild Hunter Alban. Sisters Darlene (Kendall) Ferrell and Bobbie (Kendall) Stromeyer (Larry Babel), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dave was an avid Steeler fan, loved going to stock car races to cheer on his favorite driver Jacob Jordan #28J from Aliquippa, PA, and most important to him was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was also very quick to lend a hand to others with projects. A handyman by trade he cherished the opportunity to use his skills to help others. Dave also enjoyed camping at Austin Lake with his wife when they were able to.
Friends will be received at Schuetz Funeral Home, 235 Clifton Avenue, Mingo Jct. Ohio on Friday January 3rd, 2025 at 11am with a full military honors service to follow at 1pm with Pastor Christina Parnell officiating.
