Diana Lynn Taylor, a cherished member of the community and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on February 12, 2025, at Trinity West Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication that will not be forgotten. Born on March 13, 1949, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, Diana was a vibrant soul who touched the lives of many.
For years, Diana devoted herself to her profession as a Nurse Aid at a Nursing Home, embodying compassion and care for those around her. Her connection with her patients went beyond mere duty; she brought warmth and a genuine smile to everyone she encountered, making her work a true calling.
Diana’s adventurous spirit came alive when she rode motorcycles with her beloved husband, George Wesley Taylor, with whom she shared 23 beautiful years of marriage. The couple shared a passion for the open road, often embarking on long rides that would see them traveling well over 40,000 miles together—one memorable journey even lasting 13 hours in the pouring rain.
A proud graduate of Mingo Junction High School’s Class of 1968, Diana was deeply involved in her community. She served as a member of the Past VFW Auxiliary Post 4811 and was an active participant in the Women’s Club of Mingo Junction. Her presence was felt far and wide, from her role as Flag Bearer for Mingo High School to her efforts on the Community Beautification Committee—helping to judge decorations and planting flowers throughout the city. Diana's pride in her hometown was palpable as she often proclaimed, "Steel Town, Still Proud."
Diana was also a passionate cook, delighting friends and family alike with her culinary talents. Her love for iced tea was well-known, and her kitchen often resonated with the comforting aromas of her many recipes. She took immense joy in cooking, always ready to whip up a meal for those she loved.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, George; two children, Dana Thomas-Porche of Livonia, Louisiana, and Paul Jr. "P.J." Thomas of Madison, Ohio; two adoring grandchildren, Nolan and Kendall Thomas; step-son Eric Taylor of Bloomingdale; one brother, Roy Daniel (Tee) Fithen Jr. of Rayland, OH; her nephew Richie Parison; and special friends Stephanie and Rod Rouse of Mingo Junction.
Diana is reunited in eternity with her parents, Roy D. and Gladys (Hockenberry) Fithen, and her sister, Sandra Parison. Each moment spent with Diana was a treasured gift, filled with laughter and warmth. As we remember her, we find solace in the impact she made on our lives and the love she so freely shared. Diana Lynn Taylor will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her. Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
