Edith Kay Cooper

Edith "Edie" (Gregory) Cooper, 76, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. Edie was born one of 12 children to the late John and Mary Gregory in Wheeling, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers George Vacheresse and John Gregory and her sisters Rose Marie Violet, Romaine Leshuk, Barbara Hartley, Sharon Larese, Martha Burch, Mary Elaine Vacheresse, and Carolyn Lee Gregory. Edie worked for the Oglebay Mansion for over 15 years as the housekeeper. She took pride in working for the museum. Edie loved her family more than anything and her kindness, laughter, and joy for the Beatles will be greatly missed. She is survived by her sisters, Sara and Martha, her daughter Lee Ann, her grandchildren Shelby and Joseph and his wife Morgan, her great grandchildren Elizabeth, Ava, Charlotte, and John, and many family members and friends. At her request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
