Edward Joseph DeCesare, 87, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 20, 2015.
Born January 3, 1928, in Steubenville, Ohio, Ed was preceded in death by his parents, the late Carmen and Lena DiCesare and his brothers the late Robert De Cesare , Joseph DiCesare . He is survived by his wife of 66 years, the lovely Sophia DeCesare; his brother Anthony (Kerri) DiCesare of Las Vegas, NV; his loving sons Edward (Barbara) DeCesare of Smithfield, OH; Carmen (Kathy) DeCesare of Tierra Verde FL; Joe (Judy) DeCesare of Steubenville OH; Lee (Tracee) DeCesare of Wintersville, OH; and Jim (Diane) Craig of Las Vegas, NV. Ed was a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Ed was a strong and humble man. He was best known for his devotion to family and his steadfast faith as one of Jehovah’s Witness. He was a hardworking man at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, where he worked for 44 years. After his retirement Ed worked with his sons at the family business Snack Brothers in Brilliant, OH. He was kind, patient and ever willing to offer an ear or a shoulder to those in need. He actively sought occasions to help those in distress and set an inspiring standard which has become firmly rooted in his sons and their families… a true legacy.
While Ed would never have admitted just how amazing he was, it was known by all who had the pleasure of being touched by the light he offered so freely to the world.
A memorial service will be held at Wednesday March 25 at 5pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 962 Two Ridge Road Wintersville, with Rudy Puskarich presiding.
