Eila Emilia (Tenhula) Vasich

• Eila Emilia Vasich, 90, of Wintersville, Ohio, passed away at home on January 8, 2023.  She was born on April 2, 1932 to the late Niilo and Ida Tenhula.  She is also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, George Edward Vasich, and two sisters, Elmi Piippo and Eine Maunula.  Eila was a retired seamstress who had worked at JCPenney and Carlisle's.  She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Eila enjoyed sewing, baking, and cooking, loved animals (especially orange cats), and traveling with her daughter to FinnFests.  She is survived by three children: Robert (Pamela) Jones of Youngstown, Sheila Vasich of Wintersville, and John E. (Lori) Vasich of Bloomingdale; four grandsons: Robert Jr. and Louis (fiancée Taylor) Jones, and Kevin and Cody Vasich; and three great-grandsons: Asher, Theo, and Silas Jones.  Friends will be received at St. Mark's on Friday, January 13, from 6 pm to 8 pm, and on Saturday, January 14, from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am with Pastor Scott Kuntz Celebrant.  Burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery.  Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
