Helen Almyra (Ellis) Porter

Helen Almyra Porter, 95, of Steubenville, OH passed away on November 1, 2022 at her daughters house in Akron.  She was born on June 22, 1927 to the late Charles Alfred and Mary Nell (Money) Ellis.  She is also preceded in death by her husband Joseph Franklin Porter Jr., two children Thomas Joseph Porter and Patricia Helen Hancock, five sisters Dorothy, Jane, JoAnn, Charlene, June.   Helen was a member of the Finley United Methodist Church, Lay Pastor for the church, and Daughters of America.  She loved to read, and  enjoyed working down at the Urban Mission volunteering,  also helping during Vacation Bible School., Loved being with her many grandchildren.  She is survived by four children Carroll Joan Porter of Akron, Joseph Franklin Porter III of Mingo Jct., Katherine (Orben) Cyrus of Akron, Stephen Eugene Porter of Omaha, NB, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friends will be received at Schuetz Funeral Home 235 Clifton Ave. Mingo Jct. OH on Friday from 10 am until time of services at 12 pm with Rev. Doug George. Burial to follow at Cross Creek Cemetery. Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
