Joan Bernadine (Rzepka) Betras

It is with great sadness that the family of Joan Betras announces her peaceful death on January 31, 2021 at the Lancia Villa Royale in Steubenville, Ohio.  She was born June 12, 1932 and was a member of the  Our Lady of Lebanon Church, 2216 Eoff Street Wheeling, WV.  Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Louis (Pete) Betras, whom she was married to for 51 years.  Also preceded by her parents Michael and Josephine (Senderauk) Rzepka.  Joan was the last survivor of the Rzepka/Staus families, preceding her were sisters, Regina (Jeannie), Edna (Wauja), Helen, Jenny (Gingia), Laura, Stella, Ann, Mary and Catherine also, two brothers Emil and Stanley.  Joan retired from the Marriott Corporation/ Wheeling Jesuit University after 17 years.  Joan loved her horse racing and traveled with her husband to many horse tracks throughout the USA.  The family would like to thank the staff at the Peterson Rehabilitation Wheeling WV and the Lancia Villa Royale.  Joan will be buried at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Wheeling WV alongside her husband. Joan will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and close family friends.  Graveside services will be private at a later date. Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
