Louis Frederick Vella Sr. (Luigi)

Louis F. Vella Sr. (Luigi) 84, of Mingo Jct., OH passed away peacefully December 19, 2024 in the Carriage Inn of Steubenville.  He was born May 16, 1940 to the late Ferdinando (Fred) and Mary (Cuschera) Vella.  He was preceded in death by his brother John J. Vella Sr. and sister Mary Basso both of Mingo Jct. 

 Louis was a graduate of Mingo High School, he was employed by The Hub of Steubenville in the early 1960's and retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Crop. as a shipper in the 80 inch Mill. 

 He loved music and playing the Accordion.  He enjoyed making Wine with family, and also playing pool with friends.  He was catholic by faith and a member of St. Agnes Church of Mingo Jct. 

Louis is survived by his wife Katherine J. (Renforth)  Vella and three sons; Louis F. Vella jr. (Sherri) of Mingo Jct., and family, John Vella (Vicki) of Mingo Jct. and family; and Jerry Vella (Donna) of Weirton, W. Va. and family.  

There will be no memorial service or visitation, Louis leaves behind memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.  We would like to thank the staff at the Carriage Inn of Steubenville for their kindness and care provided during his stay.  Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
