Samuel R. "Sam" Morris, 74, of Mingo Jct., OH passed away on February 19, 2024 at Weirton Medical Center. He was born on January 1, 1950 to the late Abraham and Ruth (Heater) Morris. He is also preceded in death by siblings John, Joseph, Abraham G. Jr., Thomas, brother in law Bob McCartney, and three infant sons, and sisters Evelyn G. Higgins, and Sarah Lowe. Sam was proud to be one of the builders/creators of the steelworker statue in downtown Steubenville, he was a Navy Veteran and retired from Center Foundry in Wheeling, WV. He leaves behind his wife Diane (Kaczmarek) Morris of 48 years, four children Vanessa (Roy Moorehead) Moore of Mingo Jct., OH Melissa (Sean Kerr) Blanchard of Brilliant, Samuel Jr. (Stephanie) Morris of Erie, PA, and Eric Morris of St. Clairsville, eight grandchildren Kirsten (Steven Green) Moore of Martins Ferry, Savannah Moore of Toronto, Isaiha Morris of Mingo Jct., Abigail Morris of Brilliant, Braden Montroy-Morris , Alyssa Morris and Sammy Morris all of Erie, PA, Emily Morris of Mingo Jct. who resided in the home and who was raised by her moma and pappy, dog-Bear, cat- Ziggy, two sisters Alice (Butch) Watson of Wallace, WV, Dorothy McCartney of Lumberport, WV, and one one brother James Morris of Wallace, WV. He also leaves behind his second family Ray and Sarah Cooper's children and extended family.
Friends will be received at Rosemont Chapel 23 Williams BLVD, Steubenville, OH 43953 on Friday February 23, from 1 pm until time of service at 5 pm with Pastor Ray Cooper Jr. officiating. In Lieu of Flowers Donations to the family.
