Thomas F. "Dilly" Kakascik, 81, of Mingo Jct., OH passed away on the morning of December 6, 2020 at home surrounded by family. He was born on September 22, 1939 to the late Louis John and Victoria (Strupe) Kakascik. He is also preceded in death by seven siblings Mgr. Edward Kakascik, Claire Tucker, Louis Kakascik Jr., Catherine Hinkle, James Kakascik, and twins Charlotte & Charles Kakascik, one nieces Carol Indovina, one great niece Amy Battocletti. Dilly worked at Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel as a General Foreman on the Blast Furnace Dept. for 47 years. A member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, K of C Council #4361 Mingo Jct. Fourth Degree , Graduate of Catholic Central, and a member of the Eastern States Coke & Blast Furnace Association. Dilly is survived by his wife of 57 years Darlene Blanche (Beatty) Kakascik, three children Thomas Jr. (Mary) Kakascik of Weirton, Stephanie (Gary) Ballinger of Akron, Jeanette Harper of Mingo Jct., Seven grandchildren Kristen Kakascik 1st Lt (JAG), and Kara Kakascik (ENS) U.S.N., both of Jacksonville, FL, Korey Kakascik of Weirton, Alexa Ballinger, Riley Ballinger, and Jace Ballinger all of Akron, Kali Ann Harper of Akron one great grandson to be Kayden Harper, also multiple Nieces, nephews, and cousin's. Friends will be received at St. Agnes Catholic Church 204 St. Clair Ave. Mingo Jct., on Wednesday December 9, from 11 am until time of funeral Liturgy with Mass at 12 pm, with Father James Dunfee Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Schuetz Funeral Home assisting the family.
